TOO LATE ITS FRIED YET AGAIN(5TH TIME) LOOK DOWN FARTHER FOR EXPLANATION

Okay, I have the zx350.2 hooked up to one of the crossovers on the slc265's. I turn it on and it is perfect untill i get the gain past half. As soon as the gain is past half the protect light comes on and the amp shuts off. Also there is a high pitching whining comming from the speaker (the car is not turned on). What could this be? A bad ground on the amp?(same ground that i use for my other amp so i don't think so). Bad rca's? What else could it be? Need some help pretty quick before i fawk up the amp again.

You either (maybe) have a short somewhere or the amp is seeing an impedeance it doesn't like, or (more likely) just doesn't like you.

What do you have the head unit volume set at when you're doing this?

It is seeing 4 ohms so that should be fine. I have the volume at 30/60.

Amp and speakers are working perfectly fine at like 1/4 gain, but as soon as it is past 1/2 amp goes into protect. Is it the amp ground? I am dreadin turing the truck on to see what else can go wrong.

As long as there isn't excessive resistance in the power line, he should still be having ~12.5v.

By not seeing a load it likes, meaning maybe there's something screwed up in the crossover or with the woofers. You won't be able to tell exactly what load it's seeing without checking it out with a dmm.

Well FAWK! Turned the dam truck on, had the amp on about 2/3 gain.....horrible engine whinning and then within 3 seconds the amp goes into protect and will not come on again! FAWKED THE DAM THING UP AGAIN! JESUS THIS IS THE 5TH TIME! Should I waste my time and send it in again? OR should i throw it in the trash and buy something else besides this kicker chit? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

One of your speaker wires is grounding out somewhere...
Nice try, but the wires are about 6 inches in length going to the speakers and they don't even touch the ground. Any others?
