Quick help for a friend

I recently installed a Fi 15" doing the entire install etc.

My friend wants a 12" for his 2009 Ford Focus.

I was thinking:

- Obsidian audio D2 (2ohm ) and wire it down to 1ohm

- ( he needs a box, anyone have a free design to build one or a place to buy one )

- soundstream d1200 amp

- knukonceptz 4 gauge wire kit

- Idk if he needs a new head unit? its weird how its separate from the main piece. If anyone knows what im talking about

-also, it has a built in like 8" sub on the trunk should i rip it out?

PIA to get that sub out,in my opinion,unhook it.Id be ripping all the stock crap out..including the HU,if it were my car..start fresh,less stressful,easy to hookup ect..save some time,and frustration,and get some good sound going..Even a $100 hu will more than likely be/sound/perform much better than that stock hu in that car,and stock pos speakers.Thus all from my experience, and opinions.Start fresh man

Yea i think he will have to get a new HU

Sounds like a good setup, build the box yourself. You can build a ported box with a free plan from somewhere on here for super cheap. It's easy,do it.

I would always get a head unit, it's worth it to wait and get the proper HU. At least a cheap pioneer or something.
