Alrighty, i am quite confused right now.

I got everything hooked up in my truck, i double checked all my connections and whatnot, and everything looks good.

So, i turn my truck on, everything turns on just fine. No sounds, no nothing. Everything is hooked up EXCEPT the speaker wires for all the amps.

Okay, cool, so i turn my truck off to go inside and burn test tone CD's to tune the amps.

Burned the CD's, come back downstairs and start the truck.

I hear a click/popping sound, i wouldnt call it a pop though. So, i glance under my back seat, and everything is still running fine, except there is a little bit of smoke coming out of the Autotek 4k.......

I turn the truck off, and check everything again. There was no spot for shorts, nothing touching something that it shouldnt. Everything looks great.

I turn the truck on again, and no popping or nothing. All the amps turn on, but now the Autotek 4k is making a whining sound on the side of the amp at the power terminals, more on a corner rather than a whole side (sort of around one of the power terminals)

I feel the terminals/wire/side of amp, and nothing is hot or getting hot or anything. there is no smoke this time around either, and everything is running fine other than the whining sound.....

Any ideas on what may have happened? Im hoping my amp still works okay since i didnt really have anything wired into it, but i dont want to check to see if im getting voltage at the speaker terminals until i can figure out what happened.

Sounds like a power supply issue to me. I wouldn't run the amp anymore, you my damage it more. Have it checked out and do not use it.
Thats not what i wanted to hear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm sorry but smoke is usually a sign of a damaged power supply. If the amp is ran for too long or the damage of the power supply is very extensive, it may damage other components in the amp. I'd just uninstall it and have it checked out by an amp shop.

sucks balls manat least it looks good
The bigger issue is a) i bought this amp here on the forums like 7 months ago and this is my first time using it, and since this is really not an installation problem and an actual amp problem, i prolly wont get anything out of the situation if i tried.

That, and i dont know what other 4krms@2ohm amp will fit under the seat in that spot.....

Any reccomendations on what i should do? Run it and see what happens? send it somewhere?
