Then really anything between 200-300 would be fine. If your amp has internal fusing then your fusing for the wire which will handle those loads easily (even though you should never hit anything above 200A)

No. The only thing that will happen is you will blow the fuse if you go too low, but like I said if you stay above 200A you'll be fine.
