Questions About Some Equipment

Hey everybody....

I am new to car audio and i really don't know what is good and what is crap. I have an 07 mustang convertible v6 and i got some stuff for it and i just wanna make sure it's good enough, before i take it some place to have it installed and they start saying i need this adaptor and that piece so they can rip me off.

So far, i've only had the head unit professionally installed. I purchased the Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD with the bluetooth and ipod adaptors.

A friend of mine, gave me two rockford fostgate 10in subs with an enclosure box. They are Punch P3 but i do not know the model type. They are not the NEWEST models either but i know they work like they are suppose to.

He also gave me an audiobahn a2150hct AMP that works as it should as well. I've herd those two pieces in his jeep and it sounds great and exactly how i want. Loud and lots of bass but not obnoxious.

I purchased 2 sets of Pioneer speakers to replace my factory installed ones. I purchased the Premier D Series TS-D802P 260 watts each speaker (i got 4)

I also purchased Dynamat for both the license plate and for the entire inside of my mustang because someone told me it will make everything sound better

and I just purchased the Rockford Fosgate RFK4X 4 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kit.

Is there anything else that I might need to get everything hooked up good? Nothing is installed yet except for my head unit.

any suggestions or positive comments?

whats your opinion on where i should have it installed? best buy vs. a regular car stereo store? people say no to best buy so that you dont have some 16 year old kid installing it but then again best buy will back up anything they do right?

Yeah sounds like your planning on headunit power for the speakers for now?

That's fine, but you'll get the itch to amplify them soon enough. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

As for install, if you have a good local car stereo store, they will also back up any work they do just as well as best buy, and odds are you'll get a much better install.

And yeah, it seems like you have everything, the amp isn't the greatest out there, but if you heard all this stuff already and liked how it sounded, by all means get it installed. It'll make a great first system for you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

HU amplifiers **** balls. It has nothing to do with brand, they all ****. It will work for low power grandma type levels, but if try to turn it up; it will distort and sound like ***. They just don't have the power or cooling ability. An external amp will really make your speakers sing. You'll get more and cleaner power with an external amp.

If you spend a little time reading on here and other similar forums you can install the gear yourself and make sure it gets done right. There are a few tricks to it, but it's not rocket science.
