Questions about batcaps

I may be a little late on this but I got a few questions about Batcaps. First of all what makes them different from other capacitors?

Second are Batcaps worth the $$$ based on actual usage? Or are they just theory based like regular capacitors?

batt caps are not caps at all the are small 2 v batteries wired for 12 v.
