questions about a Orion Xtreme 400.4

I just picked one of these up and it comes with these little black boxes that connect to the amps speaker terminals one negative one positive then sends 2 positive and 2 negative out. What would be the purpose of these and is it neccesary or can I just put speaker wire straight into the amp?

Those are crossovers for a component speaker set.

Ohh boy do I feel like an idiot I probably should of asumed that but the guy gave them to me with the amp and the infinity label is scratched off I was wondering what the hell they were thanks for the help
