Questions about 6.5's in my doors...

Hello all,

I have a 2000 4runner with stock 6.5's in the doors and tweeters on the a-pillars.

Right now I have an Alpine 9856 HU and my front mids are completely cashed. I'm looking for something simple and was wondering if I could just replace my mids with something along the lines of the ascendant audio 6.5's. I think they are rated at 100watts (RMS). I have a JL 12w3 coming my way also, so I assume I need a 4 channel amp to accomodate the subs and mids? Thoughts anyone?

If you are in a position to pick up an amp, you are better off replacing both the stock mids and stock tweeters with a new component system. It's a bit more money, but you'll have crossovers matched to those drivers and benefit from the greater power to the complete system. I think it would sound much better.
