Because I absolutely **** at building boxes, I went to my local place for them to build a ported box to hold my two Interfire IFB-15D's. They're 600RMS each and call for 2 cubic feet for each sub and if you go ported, the sheet says a 2" W and 8"H port for a SINGLE sub. The box they made has 4 cubic feet but only that 2" W and 8" H port. Why such a small port? When you have a spec for a single sub, wouldn't you double that when you have two subs? The results of the sub are excellent response in higher lows, but sloppy ( SLOPPY ) performance on lows.

I know it has to be the box because my girl friend has a similar enclosure for her two audiobahns ( I tried to pursuade her away ) but surprisingly they're louder!

Could the one small port be limiting the subs in my car? I'm just upset that such shitty speakers as the audiobahns could be hitting louder than my car. And she bought her audijunks for new online for 90 bucks for the pair :

Your problem is 100% your enclosure.

First off, that's not enough port area for one of those subs, let alone, two. Also, 4 cubes shared is very small for two of those subs. I suggest either using 1 of them in an enclosure about the same size or double the size and add a ton more port area.

If you want, I could design something for you and you can have somebody build it.

I would definitely take it back to the shop and let them know you're not satisfied with their work and see what they will do to make it up for you. I bet they charged you an *** load for it too. :\

Interfire makes budget friendly subs and amps, for what it is though its pretty good. I had 2 of the 10" version of the subs he has on an interfire amp and it hits pretty good.

Yeah I knew it was the port size because they hit mids incredibly, incredibly loud but when it hits lows it sounds like its clipping because it cant move the air. I PM'D Immacomputer but as I told him, if anyone could design a box I'd definately appreciate here. Here are the specs:

As I also told him, I'd like the subs to fire towards the rear and the port towards the cabin. But I'm not sure which is best for hatchback, since my car is an acura integra ( 1991 RS ). Any help would be appreciated! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

may wanna do just a single 15 in a big ported box that will get down low

I already have the two subs so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I don't need earth shattering because obviously I wont get that with these subs... But I need something that will hit lows BETTER. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif My box will have to be designed in a manor where the box will only be wide enough to hold the subs and an inch on each side... but a really long box.... Do you know what I'm getting at? Look at my current box :

See how I'm going to have to have the box sitting in my back seat as well as in the trunk? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll post the maximum height and width tonight. BTW I paid 200 locally for this box :

just do subs firing up. and port firing back. with a port along the bottom of the box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
