question on wattage

ok i have two rockford p3s and their are dual 4 ohm voice coils. the rms on these subs is 500 watts so does that mean for rms wattage i have to do 250 to each channel or does that mean 500 watts to each channel, peak on these subs is 1000 watts

get a mono amp that does 1000rms@1ohm

best wiring configuration you can do with those.

ok, with 2 dvc 4 ohm woofers, your only wiring options are 1ohm or 4ohm

not 2 ohms.

get an amp that will produce ~1000rms@1ohm (500rms per driver). that's your best bet.

you can get a smaller amp if you want. nothing wrong with underpowering subs.

yes you can do that. 600 might be a bit much (entry level rf drivers). i wouldn't try overpowering these subs. too risky.

holy crap. $250 for 300 watts? ****.

there's better for your money (and no best buy isn't the best place either).

look for maybe an orion 600d or something like that.

also that amp is class a/b and not very efficient. >80db sn ratio. there's alot better.

its basically the only audio place in my are other than a few small places that only carry mephis, should i try looking at those i was juss tryin to match my subs but if that is over priced ill take a peak at other places

this amp would work alot better and it's cheaper. plus it's underrated so it'd push more than 400@2ohms and you can get it for $230.

btw, your best bet is to buy online. it's the cheapest way. retail stores charge out the *** for overrated products (memphis isn't overrated, but hella expensive even retail).

well i was looking at an alpine amp that did 400 rms at two ohms and costed 199 is that to much the only thing i dont understand is it says brigable mono how can it be bridgable if it is a mono amp

there are some mono amps with 2 "channels" and each "channel produces power, so you can "bridge" the 2 "channels".

the orion would be your best bet. i still say.
