Question about throwing a battery in the trunk

Me and my buddy were IMing recently and we were arguing about grounding a batt that you'd have in your trunk. I'd like to know the best answer, because I'm thinking of throwing one in there soon and hookin it up. So the question is - is it better to run wire from the front batt's neg to the trunk batt's neg, or just grounding the trunk batt's neg to somewhere on the frame near the batt - therefore causing less resistance?

I will say I disagree. Run from front to back I think will do more than direct ground to the back. Which will have more resistance the car or a piece of pure copper wire?

X2.

A run of pure copper wire run from the front battery to the rear battery will have far less resistance than running the ground to the steel frame, which has to travel through spot welds, bolts and such before reaching the front. If the best way to ground an amp was just ground it to the frame, do you think the loudest street vehicles in the world would run several runs of wire from the front to the rear when they could just ground it to the rear body/frame? For the sake of argument, if your not seriously competing and only plan to cruise around with it pounding you probably won't see much of a difference. But running the ground from the front to the back is the best way, it can't hurt to add a ground from the rear batt to the frame too, but it shouldn't be necessary.

I wouldn't throw a battery in the trunk...most are fairly heavy and you may damage something //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I was waiting for someone to say this. lol

Run the wire. Besides having a full frame in anything with a trunk any more is few and far between.

Yeah, I dunno. I'll probably just ground it to the seat belt, like I've got my amps right now. I've got a 500w rms amp for my subs and a 400ish rms amp for my 4 2-ways, so I'm not pulling THAT much power, therefore, I don't think it will make much of a difference.

i am wondering the same thing.....i am gunna be running around 4-5k daily......no comps.......should i ground in trunk or run ground from front battery.....???????????

would i see a big difference??
