question about liquid nail

to actually answer your question about whether using liquid nails deteriotes the surrounds, yes. But only if you put the sub in the box before the glue has cured, there is a chance it will detiorate. Silicone is even worse, be 100% sure that has cured before you put the sub in. I use both liquid nails and silicone for sealing/gluing and just wait 24 hours with a fan on it before i put the sub in. I've learned the hard way.

what happens if i make my box and stuff, and drop the sub in right away and then pound away for a bit and then leave it?

edit: what exactly will the solicon do and how fast does it do it?

hdave it will not make a difference if the sub is pounding or not... the chemicals(read:fumes) will still be getting on the sub. as for the silicon, read my last entry in this thread. seroiusly. also, it will do it from the moment you set your sub in until the moment it cures. However i should say that it is worse on foam/compound surrounds more than the rubber ones.
