Q not getting THAT loud w/ BX1500d =(

Well I set up my Q today and got it installed. I have the gain in between 1/2 and 3/4, bass boost off, and all the bass settings on 0 (-6 to 6 scales), and it's not that loud. I have to turn the bass settings on my HU up so I can get the output I want.

have you set the gain properly? doesn't sound like it? whats your sub level at on the hu? should be all the way up before you set your gains. what vc config is your q? what ohm load are you showing the amp?

ng beat me to the hu sub level.

Yeah, put the sub setting at +6 / 6, and then set the gains accordingly.

Most pioneers have 2v outputs, and you def. need the level set to +6.

I was thinking that, but didn't know for sure.

I smell a burnt smell, for some reason. IDK what burnt/burning coils smell like, so it could be glue or silicone or something. It just smells like burned rubber.

What could this smell be? The sub is New and the box, I just built last night.

is the amp the bx1500d? cuz it makes a smell for me sometime, not really burning though... could be bad, take the sub out the box... is there any grinding?

Yea, I guess...

There has always been a funny smell on all the new subs I've owned after playing, soooo we'll see after I beat it tomorrow.

Q's are redic.

Comes out around 1.2 on my DMM after wiring in parallel.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but do people normally turn their sub level to +6 on their h/u's? I thought it was better to keep it at 0.

i think its the bass level you keep at 0 on your headunit.
