Who cares, honestly, if you're really concerned that it may be the issue, ask for pics of it, and ask the builder if that could perhaps be the problem...and if it comes down to it, and you offer a refund for that 1 in god knows how many designs that comes back at you, so what?
I'd rather have a happy (or at least satisfied with my handling of the situation) customer than an extra 10-20 bucks in my pocket.
I understand what you are saying and maybe once in awhile offering a refund would not be so bad. But the bottom line with anybody who designs enclosures is that you cannot be liable for the purchaser's lack of skills, tools, whatever the case may be. Just my opinion anyways
