thats exactly what happened to mine. thats why im nervous about building this enclosure, i dont wanna blow my dd. my hdc3 enclosure was very loud but the sub kept overexcurting no matter what . spent hours f#@$ing with it. i called and emailed pwk talked with him several times, the concusion was everything looks good on his end designing it, and his answer to whats wrong with my setup was... he doesnt know

i mentioned the box being the problem, his response....

Well, everybody always tends to explain a problem in a way so that the fault lies with someone else. The fact of the matter is that acoustic suspension that a woofer encounters in a given enclosure isn't so much determined by it's size, rather, by it's impedance curve and, within it's operating frequency range, this enclosure offers excellent acoustic suspension. As I'm sure you've noticed, the enclosure would get plenty loud before the woofer would begin to move a lot (and even then, it would only do so around the bottom octave). If you'd like to purchase a smaller design or perhaps one with an even higher degree of acoustic suspension, you'll be happy to know that I've just launched a stand-alone PWK Designs web site(http://www.pwkdesigns.com) and I take all

I get 1.82 cubes at 36.5hz; but I could be wrong. What does dd say to use?

I'm counting it as a 3.5" x 12.5" wide port 42.25" deep, that's where I could be wrong.

if someone had a problem with one of my designs after they built and tested it, I'd redesign it for free, or refund them. IMO that's the least you could do for someone who just spent time and money building something designed by you that doesn't work....

That is wack, design doesn't work so charge for a new one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

To the OP, build it and keep an eye on your woofer, if you notice it unloading or bottoming out like last time with the hdc3 turn the shit down before you break something //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

You have to account for driver displacement of the 9512. I think I calculated a shorter port than that as well. IDK, I'm not running the numbers again.

That's why I won't buy another nor tell someone to buy a design from him. He knew I was unhappy and having problems with mine, never offered a refund or another design or anything. Basically told me the same thing he told the OP.

yea his customer service sucks *** after he gets your money, you got problems he doesnt give two shits just offers you to spend more of your dough. i have nothing good to say about him and his designs.

One thing I have not heard mentioned yet is the fact that. If I were to design someone an enclosure, and they did not build to spec or the craftsmanship was shit, then it is their fault not mine. Unless I build it for them, I cannot guarantee they are going to build it right:rolleyes: Nothing is free:fyi:

Who cares, honestly, if you're really concerned that it may be the issue, ask for pics of it, and ask the builder if that could perhaps be the problem...and if it comes down to it, and you offer a refund for that 1 in god knows how many designs that comes back at you, so what?

I'd rather have a happy (or at least satisfied with my handling of the situation) customer than an extra 10-20 bucks in my pocket. If I was already charging 50 bucks per design for straight up ported box designs, I wouldn't mind having to refund even 1 in 10 with that kind of money being made off them...
