push on sub cone it goes 'whoosh' ?

Does this mean the voicecoil is rubbing and it needs a recone or what. Or do some subs just make noise when you push down on the cone. Sounds like a bike pump when you push down on it and it compresses the air. Other subs i have don't make any noise when you push down.

ideas? or waht

if so who is cheaper to recone

It's not in a box at all, just free air it makes that sound. My other 2 subs don't do that. Just a whoosh sound doesn't sound like a rub sound

Could be that when you push down the pole vent is covered just enough to make that noise. It could also be air escaping from the spider...

Never heard anyone describe that sound with a subwoofer. Are you sure it's like an air sound???
