Prototype BM v2 has arrived at SI for testing!

DIYMA is not snobbish...they just don't get excited about subwoofers as they only produce a small fraction of the musical spectrum.
Some of the cats over there are snobbish and over think too many things IMO, it seems they focus too much on tech specs, distortion, SQ and what not, and forget about the music by the end of the day(im not saying you should worry about those things, but dont just dont forget what you are doing it all for) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Too be honest I did, the driver is a non standard design ( ie no 12 spoke ) and anything that doesnt have that seems to be hated on here. Even though they complain about seeing the same thing.
The mag and the bm werent designed for the majority ppl on here anyway. Its target market is more like users of DIYMA and Honda-tech. Superb SQ, low power handling, small box requirments, lightweight, etc.

I agree

I wonder if it can keep up with the numbers that the previous Mags were puttin up on the meter
Nope. Like Jake said, both new models (the BM and the Mag) are more SQ oriented, and are both small sealed box oriented. A single BM won't keep up with a previous Mag. ...and a previous BM wouldn't keep up with a Mag either.

but for the same amount of money you can purchase 3 new bms compared to 1 previous mag ( i think that would be somewhat equal in price anyways )

Too much circle jerk for something that doesn't even really exist yet....

No one who can be even remotely objective has heard or measured these drivers yet, so arguing about who does what and how they do it is relatively fruitless. Debating generalizations about topologies is of little merit, from either side.

When I measure and hear them, I'll let you know what I think. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It is also really nice to not have to be the first to stand up for a company like JL Audio, who have been lead engineers in car audio for many years. I love when things like objective and logical analysis get in the way.

These things are about focusing on the music. For example, the absence of distortion leaves only the source to be listened to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
