At this point I can't guarantee the BM has lower inductance, but based on design it has a 99% chance that it does have lower Le.

Please forgive me, I don't mean to keep beating this thing, but I find that people who post information with the intention to cause "controversy" usually ends up as FUD and mis-information in consumer's minds.

I think at this point, you really can't say anything definitive about either product, outside of what they tell you, can you?

Too be honest I did, the driver is a non standard design ( ie no 12 spoke ) and anything that doesnt have that seems to be hated on here. Even though they complain about seeing the same thing.

The mag and the bm werent designed for the majority ppl on here anyway. Its target market is more like users of DIYMA and Honda-tech. Superb SQ, low power handling, small box requirments, lightweight, etc.

The inductance claim is my bad, I could have sworn that JL listed the Le on their site and that it had been compared to the BM before, that is definitely my bad. As for XMAX, the BM does beat the JL sub. I am not trying to spread FUD, the first statement wasn't anything other than puffery, which isn't FUD.

Some people learn a tremendous amount about physics and speaker properties....some of you have a pretty good grasp on how speakers are built and what makes them do what and what makes their properties change slightly or dramatically. Some of you don't.

Here is one thing some of you might know....but refuse to realize.

Some speakers...in this industry...are the EXACT SAME woofer......but appear different. And the BRAND NAME CEO's LIE and tell you they are not, they lie to their "REPS" too...they may not know different or they do and still lie...and give you mounds of horse crap and brainwash you into thinking they are telling you the truth. Personally...i know of several...that are the SAME WOOFER...but the top and bottom plates have been shaved and tampered with etc but the same amount of metal etc is in play...same internal dimensions...flux flows the same...same gause... same bl same critical mm's everywhere...

I also know of a few manuf brand name companies that say they tool their own crap.........................................and don't.......they buy off the shelf stuff from little known chingchong companies over seas and hope for the best that no-one finds where they got it from.....

The car audio market.....is full of lies.......

Lies about T/S parameters....lies about tooling.....etc etc...lies about lead times and stuff being held in customs....lies lies lies........

The only thing you can trust...................

Is when you have that woofer in your hand and test it yourself.....

And the only comparison you can make is when you have the OTHER woofer in your possession and test that one yourself as well.

Those of you that think you are "IN" with some manuf because they get on the phone with you and tell you juicy details about who knows what....you are probably in fact..."a flunky or a goon"....somebody that they fill with crap to go out and defend them on the internet.....or fluff up their persona....

Realize this............

And take all this "i know this and I know that" with a grain of salt...but the majority of is a steaming pile of crap anyway......

I don't think people are hating the Mag or BM, it's just 02parkave being himself and Nick and Nick in a pissing contest, lol, no offense to either of you guys I just found it funny.

I see. I didn't see a big fan-fare at DIYMA...but we'll see. They are a slow adopting group.

DIYMA is somewhat snobbish too, I think these drivers are good for the SSA crowd, a little more educated and after more SQ in general than this forum. Not 100% obviously as there are still a fair share of SPL people over there, but less % wise I think.

Yea, and to be honest I don't think many of the SI faithful post on there enough to give it the exposure it needs to be adopted quicker. Once people get the drivers in there hands I think that it will gain popularity.

Honestly I don't think Nick has been this excited about a driver more than these 2. Ever since he called me and told me how nice it sounded he has been on pins and needles waiting to get them out.

His excitement has shown through his posts on his own forum and maybe some of the members there have carried it over here, there really is no need to talk trash and call the drivers "shitty" without experiencing one or not having a factual reason to base them on. ( none of this is directed at you flip )

Just as you guys are saying that the fanboys are hyping up the product to much, you are talking way to much about how bad it is without hearing it.

What is the inductance reading of both drivers, and at what frequency were these measurements taken?

Do we really have to go over this again Mark? I can find my previous post a few months ago about this same topic. Low inductance does not make it "just a woofer". Saying something like that is like saying a Brahma isn't a subwoofer...nor is the Shiva-X...or the up-coming SICKO.

Will these be the end all be all of woofers, no, that doesn't exist, but will they be **** good at what they were designed for and for a **** good price, you bet your *** they will be.

DIYMA is not snobbish...they just don't get excited about subwoofers as they only produce a small fraction of the musical spectrum. Maybe a super nice midrange for $13...that would get people excited.

I highly doubt I am losing them sales. As for a $13 midrange, if it existed I would jump all over it, but just the price of copper and steel alone now make it hard to do.

Lol, the color is pretty. But to be honest I don't get why sub companies make the basket and motor look nice, unless it costs the same which I believe it did in this case. Realistically how many people invert their subs, I know some do but it is a small percentage.
