I wouldn't be so sure, higher XMAX and also uses XBL^2 which gives it an extremely flat BL curve. The inductance is also much lower which should allow it to play higher than the TW5. I know those stats don't guarantee anything, but there is obviously a chance that it will outperform a TW5.i guess for the price, it will slaughter, for the performance, I think not...
Define "higher" please.I wouldn't be so sure, higher XMAX and also uses XBL^2 which gives it an extremely flat BL curve. The inductance is also much lower which should allow it to play higher than the TW5. I know those stats don't guarantee anything, but there is obviously a chance that it will outperform a TW5.
So it isn't a subwoofer, but just a woofer then?Higher up the frequency range, ie. the BM should be good out to about 800Hz. There are a few people that are considering using them as a mid-bass in their doors just for the hell of it.
No, it is a subwoofer, but the low inductance allows it to play up there. JL does not list the TW5 inductance and I am not 100% sure what it is on the BM, but I believe it is under 1mH.So it isn't a subwoofer, but just a woofer then?
What is the inductance reading of both drivers, and at what frequency were these measurements taken?
http://stereointegrity.com/forums/si-products/33-new-mag-bm-thread.htmli was under the impression that the BM does NOT have xbl. also- you were previously discussing the mag. please stick to one shitty sub at a time. thanks
Then how do you know the BM inductance is lower than the JL if you don't have the measurements? No, it is a subwoofer, but the low inductance allows it to play up there. JL does not list the TW5 inductance and I am not 100% sure what it is on the BM, but I believe it is under 1mH.
I don't know the BMs inductance off the top of my head, Nick knows it, he will be able to let us all know, I just don't and can't find it on the forum without a lot of reading right now. Then how do you know the BM inductance is lower than the JL if you don't have the measurements?
Oddly enough, legally an advertised price is just an invitation to make an offer at that price.true although legally a posted price has to be honored.if not someone could be a prick and take legal action
Exactly, they can retract it as they do in the case of misprints. Price labels on an object however are different as most states do have laws stating that the store has to give it to you for the price on it.Oddly enough, legally an advertised price is just an invitation to make an offer at that price.
So what you are saying then is your previous statement about the BM having a lower inductance than the JL unit is not accurate, correct?I don't know the BMs inductance off the top of my head, Nick knows it, he will be able to let us all know, I just don't and can't find it on the forum without a lot of reading right now.
At this point I can't guarantee the BM has lower inductance, but based on design it has a 99% chance that it does have lower Le.So what you are saying then is your previous statement about the BM having a lower inductance than the JL unit is not accurate, correct?
