Prototype BM v2 has arrived at SI for testing!

someone should update the web page and take the prices off or something.
you ever been to the store and something had the wrong price on it? you get it for that price! so i'll take mine at $149.00 each shipped. lol
print the page for proof to make it legal

if the price it raised i doubt it's due to cost of raw materials but more so as more people jump on the band wagon. even at $149 i'm positive the company is making money and at $200 they're just making that much more. now i'm not saying anything bad about the company it's just how business works.

here's a good exmple, alpine iva-d310 hu cost what $1300 for a regular guy to buy one. now i know someone who has a shop and they paid $250 a hu (they make $1050 every hu), and of corse alpine will make their money even at $250.

Trust me, the price the build house quoted was lower than it actually cost to build so the price will be going up, but not too much.

meh as 02parkave stated i wasnt totally blown away by the last mag...at 500 bucks for the 15 it wasnt leaps and bounds above other subwoofers i have heard. with these new price tags though maybe my expectations wont be so high after everyones hyped them up.

Its called being in business. Even if the price hike is due to hype, if the market will bare it, its a smart move.
Dealer cost on iva-d310's was more than $250. Alot more. You were misinformed.

Nick posted a thread on his forum with pictures and initial impressions of the driver. I must say that it is gorgeous and is a real feat of engineering, I have no doubts that it will slaughter the JL TW5 that is getting a lot of attention right now.

A wise wee-man once said...

If the new JL shallow mount woofer sucks so bad why on earth would they waste the tens of thousands of dollars of R&D and tooling all of the new components for it including the voice coil, spiders, basket, etc. when they could have done what he did and had the exact same woofer from china for next to nothing and let the internet nut swingers like yourself hype the heck out of it and pronounce it god, and have zilch in tooling.

Perhaps there's a reason JL didn't run to china for off the shelf parts?

There's a reason they spent all that money in tooling. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The cost of commodities has sky-rocketed in the past few months....not just crude oil, but other commodities as well. From the price of metal, to the price of shipping stuff over from China due to fuel costs...prices have gone way up. It's possible that price could be raised due to hype, but there is no doubt that productions costs have risen drastically for most manufacturers.
