Protect Mode

Why does my Kicker ZX 750.1 keep going in protect mode for the first 5 mins when i turn on my car? Its like i have to let my Amp warm up before i can play my subs at a volume level where i can feel them decently. Whats causing this, and what can i do?

Low voltage? Maybe the engine needs to run for awhile to get the battery charged up.

I just got a brand new battery, so i dont THINK it could be that. Wow would have been nice to know that every Kicker amp is crap before i bought it lol. Its still under warranty, but i really want to refrain from unmounting it from the box and all that.

send it back for repair while you still can.

zthumper had the same issue with his and they supposedly resolved the issue.

Found this interesting, i left my car alone after a drive for a couple hours. I turned my key to Accessories and i could play my subs on full without any cutting out. But, i turned my car on and went to the same volume level(AC is off) and it cuts out. I would then have to let it sit for awhile before i could play at the same level. What could it be now?

i've seen more threads about kicker amps goin into protect mode then any other amps lol.

ok, i realize that they go into protect mode alot already, thanks. But if it cuts out only when i turn on my car, its gotta be like the Alternator or something right?
