some one did that on here once, i dont see why it wouldnt work. but when your sub is tricked into thinking the box is bigger, is the port too?

Req made the only ported FG box I can remember, but he built it ported on purpose.

the box i meant was a regular mdf box that was ported with polyfill inside.

put some wood or somehting in to to bring it down the the recomended size

still too small for a port?

if a port is possible, what will you tune at? and does anyone know the minimal port area for this sub?

one of these tubes http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=268-350 cut to 13.5 inches long would give you a volume of 1.22 ft. ^3 and tune you 32 Hz. If you want it tuned higer, then use a shorter port length to get the frequency you want, and vice versa. these ports are supposed to substantially decrease port noise, so perhaps a 3 inch wide port would be sufficient. anything wider would be too long and displace too much.

oh i didnt bother to read the recommended ported volume. but even with polyfil?

Thats what I was wondering, with .28 cube too big for sealed, will it over excert (sp?)..

also - next time you go to lay it down, those strands sitcking up all over the place are a pain in the ***,

and they poke you and make you bleed ouchy!
