Profile AP1040 for this setup?

Hi all …

I will be starting to put a budget system together for my truck soon. I am looking to drive a single Memphis 10” 4 ohm DVC Sub, its RMS is rated at 250w. After reading some pretty good reviews on it on this site, I’m thinking about getting a Profile AP1040 to power it … 80 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms and 225 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms. I decided on a 4 channel to power the door speakers when I upgrade those. The door speakers will either be the Alpine SPS-17C (50w RMS) or the Infinity Reference 6012i (60w RMS), both coax. Would the Profile AP1040 amp be a choice for this type of setup? I’m just looking to have a decent clean sound, not too loud or flashy.

Thoughts and opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I can't see how a 4 ch would be a good option for a set up like that. If the sub was a svc 4 it wouldn't be too bad, but with a dvc 4 you'd have to run the sub at 8 ohms which is only going to give you 125w or so to the sub.

If I were you I'd consider a pair of amps. Maybe the ap600 along with the 700M.

Thanks alot for catching that for me n2audio. In my audio noob-ness, I overlooked the "Voicecoil Wiring Options" thread. It makes total sense now.

After looking at the wiring options for the 4ohm DVC sub that I have. Would this amp be a good choice .... Profile 400MSX 400W California Mono Sub, RMS (2 Ohms) 300W x 1, "Stable at 2 Ohm". http://www.profilecaraudio.com/amplifiers.htm

I am assuming this would be the best way to wire the sub.

Thanks again for the info!!

that's what we're here for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

400msx should do real well, and the ca600 or something similar would be more than enough for your fronts.

If you are speaking of the Memphis 15-PR104 sub, they come in 4Ohm SVC as well. No need for a second amp.
I actually already have one Memphis 10” 4 ohm DVC Sub, I'm looking for an amp that will be a good match.

Would this eKo Complete 4AWG Amp Kit from knukonceptz.com work for this Profile 400MSX 400W California Mono Sub, RMS (2 Ohms) 300W x 1? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
yeah, but get you also need to pick up a cheap 2 fuse 4/8 distribution block and some 8 ga to go from the block to each amp, and from each amp to chassis.

i used my ap1040 in a setup like your 2 speakers in front and a sub, and yes is a really nice amp, right now i'm using it for my comp and i love it, there are better but for the price is unbeatable, you need a svc 4 ohm or dvc 2ohm to get what you want.

Thanks for the knowledge everyone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Im still a month or so out before I start on my system but I like to get as much info as I can before I start. Ill be asking you guys for more info in the near future.
