can someone tell me about this amp

ok i have an planet audio ap500.2 ok i know its 2000 watts but some poeple tell its 2500 watts @ 1 ohm is that tru i can find any thing on the web about this amp but a local shop told me that it was 2000 watts and that its a very good amp i just want to know what the hell it can do and push b/c i want to get one good 15 but dont know what to get
