problems with setup

OKAY

FIRST, I would like to say, when I left his house, everything was working normally. His audioz were tuned, sounded great, nothing going into protect. We had one problem very shortly with the front speakers but quickly realized it was that they had become disconnected.

We were not running his system off of just a battery. There was a new battery and the alternator was working, obviously, since the engine was on. I don't tune systems with the cars off.

The quick disconnects on the bck of the front speakers, are some yellows 12-14g i think. The stupid things wouldn't stay real tight on the terminals so they weere crimped (not as harsh as crimp but fastened) so that they wouldn't come lose again.

We DID notice after tuning the car, that there was some floor noise...his gains were set properly so I basically decided that it is probably the Pioneer cliche garbage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. So I told him how he could test it later on by using a different source unit.

Anyway, thats what went on while i was there.

I don't understand how we can sit there and jam and listen to his new system for 2 hours but then 45 minutes after I leave he starts to get engine whine.

So here is the question.

With the pioneer issue, does it only cause floor noise, or does engine whine have a tendency to show up?

my d3 played at 150+ for 2 moths then it developed noise! was in the ribbon wire on the back of the pioner! i sent it back and got new one! then it did it again friend told me just to ground one the rca's back to radio it stoped! " i just took a pieece wire striped 3 inches and wraped around the barrel of the rca taped it up and grounded the other end to the screw on the radio itself no more noise

ill cehck on the window thing, that could be it!and i had engine whine today, but then it went away. it could be that the hifi amp was off, but i think there was no engine noise for the last ten minuets. that or im used to it lol.

the wierd thing is, after shane left, literally i did nothing to the car. didnt drive, get it in, nothing. and then i got whine which later moved onto the other problems

good news! it was the windows on the fronts. that never occured to me, thanks daefish! also, i unplugged everything out of the hifonics amp, and replugged in and its working now. maybe a strand of power wire was hitting ground or something.

Will you post a picture if the LC2i as it is wired. How did you set the output gains of the LC2i? What is the max voltage gain input on the amplifier?
