Problem With No Sound from iPod

i would understand if i was trying to connect using just the ipod connector, but it doesn't make sense that aux and usb doesn't work. also, i tried a dvd and it just made a blue screen with all the different dvd controls. I have no idea what is wrong here. I was going to take it to the geek squad tomorrow but i dont want to pay the $60 just for them to say that they can't do anything about it.

well it would be one thing if it wasnt compatible with me plugging in my phone using the usb, but neither does the aux and usb. i also tried putting in a dvd and all that happened was it displayed a blue screen with all the different dvd controls

has the parking brake been bypassed? sometimes it can do weird things if it isnt but by any means i wouldnt bring it to geek squad a good shop maybe but never best buy most of the time the guys in there dont know much of anything then again some do.

I haven't bypassed the parking brake. I'll look into that

highly doubt that its prolly a setting or the bypass hell could be they sold you the wrong module with the radio. what happens if you plug the ipod direct to the head unit just curious really. last time i had a problem like this it was with a z3 and its stupid ib200 module **** thing wont allow video and wouldnt even recognize the iphone 4

I bought this head unit used off Craigslist lol. It came with the iPod cable. When I plug it in, it starts auto playing a random song. Could it just be broken and I just got screwed over?

I asked the guy I bought it from about it and he said the same thing happened in his Cadillac. He said he took it to our local stereo place and that he needed a special harness. Any idea on what this harness is so i can do it on my own. I have no money right now for a professional install.
