Problem With No Sound from iPod

I have tried to hook up my new stereo, a Pioneer P4000, in my 2007 Mustang. I got everything situated for testing, plugged in battery, mounted stereo. I turned on my car, plugged in my iPhone 4s. It starts playing my song and displays the song info, the iPhone wont let me access the menus saying accessory connected, and the volume is up. There is no music coming from my speakers, although a slight fuzz (they're working). I do not have the correct adapter for the antenna, so I cannot test the radio, but when I select radio, I get a lot of static, as I would assume. I also try the AUX port but still no sound other than the slight fuzz. Is it something wrong with the "mute" cable? I heard that has caused some issues. I believe I have everything wired right. What the poo is wrong!??

if ou have the "mute " wire connected , simply disconnect it (cut it, not needed)

but if ur getting static when radio is selected source the i doubt that is the issue

and ur car does not require an antenna adapter , car is equipped with a Motorola style antenna

yeah its the avh-p4000dvd. sorry for the confusion. i have the adapter to plug in ipod if thats what you mean. what are you wanting pics of? the antenna? im not so concerned about that right now. more so the ipod/aux problem. even if the iphone wasnt compatible, aux port would still work. im about to go try and test a usb stick and a different aux cable

different aux cables--no good. usb stick--no good. the usb did the same thing. it played the song but no sound. Im honestly lost here. I have no idea what to do now. I rewired everything and made sure it's correct. any ideas??

maybe try and reset the headunit or go through the function options and check the settings for the ipod/usb source

reset the microprocessor AND restored to factory settings. nothing in menu relating to ipod is there anything that stands out

compatible with what? my car?
since the radio is an older model it may not be compatible with that model phone, just like my alpine cda-117 doesnt allow me pandora radio without bypassing the auto-switching to ipod. it'll play the ipod fine but wont do the pandora on its own. yet the newer alpines do it all day everyday. its just programming
