Hello,

I'am new here at this Forum.....

I try to introduce myselfe.

My Name is Alex, i'am from Germany and life in the States (Michigan) now since appx. 12 month.

I'am 29 Year old and my english **** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

My ride is a Jeep Grand Cherokee

HU. Alpine CDA 9855

FS. & FS.Amp is still the stock Infinity system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sub. MTX Thunder 9512.44 in a vented enclosure.

Sub. Amp: Rockford Fosgate T15002

Starter Battery --> Stock Bat.

Second Battery: Optima Yellow Top D31A

Wire 1/0 Ga

Now my question:

I have to crank the gain at my Amp almost all the way up, do get some noise out of the Sub....

I would say, on a scale from 0 to 100, i have to set the gain at about 95...?

But my Pre out on the HU is 4 Volt.....at least in the manual??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I had before a Alpine MRV 1005 - Amp, and it was exactly the same problem (I had to adjust the gain at 0,3V).

May be, somebody here could give me some thoughts?

Thanks for your help....

Alex

wow, thats a fast reply //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i wired the sub at 2 Ohm (2x4Ohm voice coil paralell)

you think thats the reason?

well at 2 ohms it should be gettin 1500 watts, i have no clue why it wouldnt be pounding. are you sure its at 2 and not 8?

and did you bridge the amp to run at 2 ohms mono or just hook up one channel to each voice coil?

yes i'am sure.

I checked it today again.

The Sub is bridged at 2 Ohm and the Amp is also bridget, like you sayed --> it shoult bring appx. 1500WRms @ 2 Ohms.....

May be something is wrong with my pre out???

May be i have just 1 Volt pre out instead of 4 Volt?

Can i meassure the Volts at the pre out somehow?

no, it is available as a DVC 4Ohm and DVC 2Ohm

So far i know a SVC-Version is not available...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

are the speakerwires going to the amp on the same coil?

I'am not sure what do you mean?

I bridged my amp. to one channel.

and the + wire of the amp is connected to the VC1+ and VC2+

the - wire of the amp is connected to the VC1- and VC2-

I think that should fit...?

yes, i wired the sub exactly like this......

Paint FTW...yah thats what it should look like for 2 ohms....check your hpf and lpfs if the amp has one, make sure everythign else is set right. Also check you bass and sub settings on the HU (just hooked my sub up today had almost no sound then i realized the HPF was on only letting it play above 150hz...wow i felt stupid)
