Ok. The post about my grounding fixed the problem for a few minutes. The amp still shuts off. I will go ahead a paste my question that I asked on the XtremeSaturn forum:
Ok. This is still happening, and it pissing me off extreme bad. I took the sub out to check to wiring. The wires are soldered to the connector on the box, and the wires that connect to the sub are screwed on tight. Everything else is tightened down as well. I moved my grounding point someplace more solid, and turned the amp on and it worked. It was hitting nice. So, I go down the road, and it shuts off again. So, it's not the ground. This is as solid as it gets.
As soon as I turn the ignition on, before the music gets to play, the amp will come on and immediately go into protection mode. Now, if I take the remote wire off the amp and tap it on the terminal a few times (while the ignition is still on), the amp will come on and stay on (as long as I keep the wire touching the remote terminal obviously).
So, I finally got it where the remote wire was mounted in solid and it was hitting nice. No problems. I go down the road and it shut off. So, after I come out from the bank, I turned the car on and the volume was at 5 (I could barely hear anything) and I could hear the sub. Then, after about 20 secs, it shut off again. What's odd is, when I first has this CD player and my 1st set of subs, I turned the CD player up to 20/50 and that was plenty loud. On the interstate with the windows down, I would turn it up to 25 MAYBE. Now it's to the point when I have my front speakers amplified at 50 RMS (rather than the 19 or so from the HU) and I now have the HU at 35!
Could this be a problem with the HU?
