Ok, this is so rediciulous. Nothing is ever right. I had the alternator whine blah blah. I got a stinger ground loop isolator. I connected it to the 4 channel amp front RCA's in my trunk. Now when I crank it up all the way after like 20 minutes or so all of sudden my lyrics just shut off and the sub is still playing. When that happens and I turn down the volume just a little the lyrics turn back on immediality. Why is this doing this? Is the ground loop getting hot? I never had this problem before. The whine didnt even really go away. The whine still comes on sometimes like at night. Should I install the ground loop from the brain of my indash and plug it in? Could I need a new alternator? Well I already know I need a 200 amp alt. My headlights dim at night. I have the big 3 and 2 1.0 farad caps and optima yellow top. My setup is Jl 450/4 pushing boston acoustics z6, JL 1000/1 and the 13w7.

ya know, I had the same problem up until recent when I just decided to sell my whole system. Never did find out what it was.

Tried testing all speakers individually to see if something was blown...nothing blown- still cutting out

Tried re-wiring the whole car.....nothing wrong- still cutting out

Tried testing each channel seperately on the amp....still cutting out

Got the amp sent in for service 2 times...still cutting out. Eventually got the amp replaced and have yet to hook it up to the new products to see if it was the amp (because there were problems with the amp) I just hope it wasnt the Head Unit....still to find out, will find out soon once it all gets hooked up.

None of this ever happened when I had my other kicker components in. I have more speakers in the car now, since I have 2 more tweeters left in. Also obviously a bigger amp. You are right about the ground loop isolator, but alot of people get that to fix the problem. Do I need new RCA cables? I am running on extension cords, since they wouldnt reach my new amp. So from my brain i got rca cables, then extension cords then the ground loop to attach to amp. Could that be the problem too many extension cords? But thats really only for the front speakers since the isolator is only on the front channel.

take the negitive outside barrell of the RCA and ground it to your chassis, then check if you have engine noise... take those stupid ground loop eliminators out.

i hope you're runnign double 4 gauge or 0 gauge with that kind of power... and equal grounds... what kind of vehicle? sounds like a nice system if you can fix the problems you're having.

i have a 01 mustang gt vert. I have 0 gauge wiring. I want this stupid whine to go away. Its funny how its never on when the volume is low and regular. When I crank it up fully then turn it down, then I can hear it sometimes and it wont come off.
