problem doing big 3

we did my buddies big 3 on his ranger today and for some reason instead of helping him, his voltage dropped....cant figure out why. any ideas?

Maybe the grounds are loose? Check everything, I just got the big 3 done today by themommyvan and my voltage barely drops at all now.

i checked everything before we started the truck and all connections were tight

but you need to check everything after you did it to ensure you did it right

im almost positive i did everything right......battery + to alt., battery - to engine bolt, battery - to chassis.

its battery + to alt , battery - to chassis , chassis to engine bolt

thats the same thing he just said blackbonnie, just your grounding the alt using the battery negative.

Same way I did mine.

If you fused the alt to batt make sure that fuse is good and that its rated high enough

might want to fuse it just in case!!!
