Problem, and I dont know what's causing it

ok, jl 250/1 hooked up to a 12w3v2 running off a loc tapped to rear door speakers after the factory jbl amp in my toyota. Now, occasionally, not all the time, when i turn off the car, the sub seems to "power up" on its output and sounds like a tidal wave coming.....the spl just builds up on its own. Now, i know this cant be good, so what am i looking at here?

a bad ground or turn on lead. Or the amp is toast and its releasing the stored power into the sub

ok......lets see...turn on lead is signal sensing. should i switch to the remote? any tests to figure if the amp is toast?

get a multimeter, un-hook the subs, and power up the amp. Set the multimeter to AC Volts, and touch the lead ends to the output screws, if no voltage shows up you have a problem with the amp. Also check the voltage of your power supply and your remote turn on lead.

fixed it, problem was the signal sensing, for whatever reason it wasnt going off with the car, just ran a remote wire now and its fine. Thanks for the suggestion
