Problem after jump starting my car

Had my car jump started a few days ago and ever since my radio won't turn on. I've checked my fuses except the one under the hood because everything else that runs through that fuse works. After hearing my unit may have fried I bought a new one but that one isn't working either. Any help would be great,thanks

Did you check carefully for an in-line fuse somewhere in the radio wire harness? Sometimes we check the fuse box fuses but forget to check for an in-line fuse (which is usually smaller in rating and the first to blow.

Using a volt meter set to measure DC volts, check the voltage at the headunit connector for the +12 unswitched (batt) power and the IGN or ACC switched power (make sure the ignition is on the ACC or ON position). Check this by putting one lead on car chassis bare metal and the other lead on the wire or pin you are testing.

you gotta check the fuses under the hood too.

double check the radio fuse in the harness and double check the radio fuse in the fuse block. I've had many blown fuses that look good. Try changing them out anyway.

If the new radio doesnt work its a fuse somewhere in the car.

What type of car do you have? Is it a newer gm vehicle with one of those **** data bypass harnesses for the radio? My battery died last december and when I finally got the car going again my radio was doing the same thing. I traced it down to that bypass module. For whatever reason it decided it was going to stop supplying accessory power to my radio and in the end I had to take the accessory lead straight to the ignition. Do you have any test equipment at all? Multimeter,test light, etc
