prepurchase questions for powering an infinity kappa 100.3

I currently have a stock wrx stereo and it's terrible so i'm replacing it with a kdcbt752hd (decent or awful?). I plan on hooking up a single 10" infinity kappa 100.3. I'm considering an alpine mrpm500 but the 4ohm rms is 300w and the spec range on this sub is 50-275 w/ 1100 peak. Is this too much amp or not enough? Could $200 be better spent on something else? I'll admit i have no idea what i'm doing and any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!

what is it that you want out of your system?

I just want it to be louder without blowing the stock speakers with some bump in the trunk. I don't need crazy loud or top notch, i just wanna get the bass out of the door speakers and in the trunk. I have about 400 total to spend and do have a big sheet of mdf i can fab something out of as well..

So total my plans are to install the deck and run an amp and sealed 10 in the trunk for now. I may decide to add tweeters and upgrade the speakers somewhwere down the road but thats another project and budget..
