Preparing to install components

I am getting ready to install my ID CTX65CS component speakers and had one question. When mounting the crossovers, does it matter where you mount them or how close they are to eachother. I was going to make a rack for them out of mdf and place them in the center console of my car up by the shifter. They will be like .5 inches from eachother. Will this cause any problems? Or is this a good spot?
