MTX re-Q Bass restoration signal processor Get full bass response when adding amps to a factory system at Crutchfield.com

I'm trying to help a friend do an install in an 08 escalade with the factory bose, navigation, phone, and onstar and all that good junk. I would normally just use a LOC, but the last time i used one in line with a bose stereo, it just stopped getting louder after a certain volume. definitely dont want to have that problem with this install considering the kind of money we're going to be putting into it. So i came across this little guy. in theory, it does exactly what i'd need it to do to counter the factory bose bullshit.

anyone used one, or something like it before?

RE-Q is great and has surprisingly good SQ for being an OEM integrator.

BUT, the bass restoration on the RE-Q is lacking, I switched mine out for an Audiocontrol LC8i instead.

I don't need the 8 channel audiocontrol, do i? the 6 channel should work? my friend also said that he's pretty sure there's a factory subwoofer, so i'm hoping i can find and tap into that. you're sure these little bastards get rid of the 'subs stop getting louder' problem with bose?

I just did one of these in a customers 08 Accord last week. 4ch w/ Alpine Type-S 6.5comps front, 6.5coax rear, Hifonics Brutus 1609D, DD2512 @ 2ohm. The highs turned out ok, needed an EQ pretty bad as the highs were screaming but mid was lacking.

The car started out w/ just the Brutus amp and DD2512 (installed that a few weeks ago w/ a $20 LOC) and he came back to have the RE-Q, 4ch, rears and fronts. The sub amp picked up ground/alt noise, but 4ch didn't w/ the RE-Q. I searched around and saw the RE-q was having problems for that, I ordered a 12amp DC filter for him today. Signal sensing was kinda a pain. Sometimes it worked right, sometimes it would have like a 45 to 60sec delay for turn-on and turn-off. Lack of sub-level control was disappointing (customer thought it had it). Freaking huge input harness was some BS too.

All in all, I rate the RE-Q mediocre at best. Sub didn't sound much better over the $20 LOC and Mids just seem to not get much lower freq. (reason I say an EQ would be nice)

I would recommend the LC6i over the Re-Q.
