Preamp outputs to a factory amp

I have a 05 Pontiac g6 with the monsoon sound system and I have upgraded the HU to a pioneer 690ub. I wanted to know if I could send a 4V preamp audio siganl from the HU to the factory amp. This would free up the HU speaker outs to power trunk speakers (for tailgating, etc.) or so I can turn the HU amplifier off. I was going to cut a RCA cord apart and wire them to factory audio signals to the amp

Can this work.
