Powering type R subs

Really i think the only thing in the type r line that is good are the subs. I have seen alot of bad reviews on the componets, but i have no experience with them. But to the question. They can handle the 500rms EASY! Id say give them atleast 500 and no more that 750. Between 500-750 there is no worry about hurting them.

we just switched up my friends type r 12". was running with 1100 watts at 4 ohms. today we rewired it down to 1 ohm (amp is 3k watts at 1 ohm) and set the gain for 2k watts rms, handled it like a champ! its in 2cubes tuned to 35hz. so if you want to power it without hurting it, i would get an amp that puts out 2k watts, and split 1k a peice to em. set the gain using a -3db 50hz, -6db if you want even more power, and i bet youll be happy with the performance. i was quite surprised with my friends 12" type r.

SBlzer wouldnt you say 800-1000 cuz really anything over 1000 will be pushing the type r's on a daily driver. atleast thats what i think but ive never powered one with 1000 id just think 2xrms is a little much.
