im confused with ohm's

well i have a sony 1200 watt amp.. heres the specs

200 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms

250 watts RMS x 2 @ 2 ohms

500 watts RMS x 1 bridged @ 4 ohms

and the subs i just bought are kicker cvr 10" 4 ohm subs here are their specs.

peak 600 watts

rms 300 watts

i want to get the best power out of these subs with this amp. should i have gotten 2 ohm subs to get the 250 watts to both of them or what? what im thinking is i will only be able to get 200 rms watts to each sub b/c they are 4 ohm subs is there anyway i can wire them to have a 2 ohm load? and if so can someone please make me a quick wiring diagram of how to do it? thanks in advance for the responses.

are the kickers you bought dual voice coil?

if they are single voice coil then you wont be able to get each one to 2 ohms. you would be able to get a 2 ohm final load if you ran them in parallel but that wouldnt be getting the most out of your amp.

yes sorry i forgot to mention they are both DVC subs. so can they be wired to a 2 Ohm load? and if so can someone explain how? and how to wire it?

You will only get 200 each speaker. If that...

heres a good link to wiring of the subs. if i were you i would run them in series parallel and bridge the amp to 4 ohms.

one more question though. by wiring them this way (bridged) will it put too much strain on the amp if i wire everything this way permanently?

yeh sorry, had a few too many. lol well at least i was half right, the subs would wire to 1ohm so get off my nutz.

I saw 500 @ 1 bridged and i thought it was 500 @ 1ohm excuse me!!!!! Stop looking at me Swan!
