Powering a 3 way component set???

right now I have 2 way Focal component setup in my regular cab truck, powered by a 300/2 amp.

I was thinking of going to a 3 way setup, 6.5"/4"/tweeter Focals or JL's. Do I need a different or stronger amp to power a 3 way?

not if they're passive, and the amps pretty close to the rms of the set

they are powered the same way as 2 way passives. the crossover gets the power and decideds where to send it.

Ditto. I'm also running a 3-way set with a passive xover. (180 x 2, Zapco Reference amp)

with an active setup...you'll need 6 channels of amplification
