Powercell Help

Let me start with I am new to the car audio life and have a decent exposure to electrical work but some things I still dont quite understand and am avidly trying to learn. I have a 1200W Kinetic power cell for my system and the ground we put in running from the negative terminal to the chassis came disconnected (Not enough slack and subs moved during a swerve when a deer popped out in the road). I know that the negative terminal is a type of ground but is it safe or am I going to destroy/overheat/etc something in my system components if not have I already done damage.

I would most definitely find a new ground, a piece of metal sanded down with absolutely no paint in the chassis. I'm not really sure how to answer but better safe than sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Appreciate it. I reattached the ground when i arrived home the subs kept playing although the ground was disconnected. I was just wondering if damage could have been done to the cell or amp due to this.
