Post your job/career

Just worked for an HVAC company for about 3 weeks. quit that ****. 110+ in attics, working your *** off for less than $20 an hour. Nah.
Residential side *****. Unless you are a salesmen bleeding poor little old ladies dry of their retirement money.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif Otherwise, the commercial side is a lot better. More hourly pay and better working conditions. I moved 2 years ago to a small town in west central Fla. and there isn't squat around here but residential companies so I am doing service for one and make most of my money doing side jobs.....lol. My boss lives in Ga. and is never around so I do pretty much whatever I want so it isn't a bad gig.

Thread Summary:Bunch of broke dicks living paycheck to paycheck spending their last dimes on car audio equipment.
I don't buy car audio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Actually, some of these guys pull pretty decent wages and probably have everything they want/need. Some of us don't worship money and are OK living paycheck to paycheck or not making 6 figures. Of course the almighty monkey is a millionaire huh?

My point was that not everyone needs to make 6 figures to get by or be happy. Also depends on where you live. 6 figures in some places is equivalent to 50k in others when figuring in cost of living. 50k is pretty good money in my area.

Yea ponder this one

they are selling single wide trailer houses for 80k in Williston with no land... 250k for a double wide with 1 acre... With no garage!!!!!

Trying to work a deal out with a land owner for 10acres looking at 80k for it.... There selling 5acre for over 100k depending on area... But anyways should end up with 10 acres a really nice modular and a fully insulated minimum size shop of 30x40 with at least 12 foot walls for somewhere in the 250k-300k range

Right now I work for ADFORS saint gobain. It's a technical fabrics company that makes laid scrim material for a bunch of different applications. I make $17.34 an Hour. It's twelve hour swing shifts 5am-5pm then I have two days off and work from 5pm-5am. Just doing it now to make ends meet. Right now I'm figuring out a way to become an electrician. That's where my dream lies. I don't care about the money I'm just excited to start a family and when I get certified in the next 5 years I can move out of this hell hole people call western New York.

Wow! A double wide on a couple of acres here would be less than $50k. $250-300k you can get a very nice 3-4 bedroom house with garage etc and a couple of acres plus of land.

Ive done plumbing with my dad since i was a little kid. Crawling under houses and giving them tools was easy when i was 3-4 feet tall. Beginner journeyman or apprentice(i forget what is lower) plumbers get paid $25 an hour min and only goes up from there. Just an FYI
Like said above residential side does **** if your working for someone, your own company might not be too bad. Commercial is much better scale for a journeyman is 31.50 right now in Houston that includes company vehicle and paid benefits for you and your family. Usually better working conditions then a small hot attic. Or you could do controls like me and sit behind a desk most of the day lol

Trying to get a job at the local car audio shops and if that doesnt work out. ima go into plumbing.

My friend just bought one, a '98 model, on 5 acres, for $30,000 in OK.
Lol theirs one listed in arnegurd nd it's from like 1990 in the little rinky dink town with a small three stall garage they are trying to sell for 250k lol anyone that has the kinda down payment laying around to purchase a 20+ year old trailer house... It would take quite a bit if you could even get financed for it.. Is way more likely to purchase something new for the same price

I live in the poorest area of Wisconsin. I paint homes for 2 months now, mostly been working on Madeline Island. I make $17/Hr Cash. I used to work in cable tv, but I like my situation a lot more now.

im a maintenance worker and commercial truck driver, full time, retirement, and benefits. been here for 7 months. the pay is such a blessing for me. when I graduated high school 2 years ago, I had no idea what I would be doing years from then. little did I know id be taking over half the mortgage, and feeding my hobbies. I am very thankful for the job I have and what I have accomplished through out the years. I live in a small town so im pretty much staying here at this job. im the youngest guy at my job. also the hardest working guy. these young guys man, we don't get tired at all. we can keep going!

Yeah that sounds about like the prices around here for mobile homes. Hell, you can get a brand new double wide delivered and set up with A/C and all, ready to move in for like $45k if you own 1 acre or more of land to put it on. $250k gets a NICE 2 story brick home with garage and a little land if it's in the county. Average price for your average 2-3 bedroom house in a decent neighborhood is probably $70k.

I've seen people on those house flipping shows based on the west coast pay a quarter of a million dollars for a house that would sell for maybe 55k here. It's crazy.
