Weatherford is allowing baker hughes to continue as its own company under weatherford registration.
All contracts up to 2017 will keep baker hughes as owner company then they plan to change over to weatherford.

The oil industry is obviously a good one to be in. Too bad there is nothing around here like that. Small town TN you're pretty much stuck in factory work or medical field to make decent money. And as I said, $15 an hour or so is considered a good paying job here. For the small amount of work I do, my job is nice. It's cost of living that's a killer.

I'm a Mig Welder at a StageRight Corporation/Rogers Athletics, we do seating for large arenas. We recently did a large job for the Staples Center and will be beginning a job for the Pepsi Center soon. We also make football equipment that almost every school in the country is likely to use. While my job is relatively easy the pay is not great (12.97/hr the cap is 17 something) so I'm searching for other jobs. Wanting to do either pipeline/oilfield work possibly entertaining the idea of a welding apprenticeship I don't want to be poor forever.

I'm a night maintenance man at a hatchery been in this field for 7 years started at 19, I know more about poultry than any mid 20s person should ever know. If you are in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia or Mississippi and have eaten chicken since 2010 chances are one way or the other it has been under my care the bird went from egg to slaughter.

HVAC Contractor for the past 20 years. Had my own thing going with my father, which was my grandfather business from the 50's/ My father and I would rather kill one another than work together. I work for a large company in boca raton. Been here for over 5 years and will never have to look for a job again ever.

Field Service Engineer (Background in electronics and computers). Back in school now to finish in computer science and minor in cyber security. Wanted to finish my EE, but travel schedule was too demanding.

Roughly $30 an hour, plenty of overtime and perks.

And I'm flying to Egypt in 2 weeks.

I work for FLIR Systems, I'm sure some of you have heard of the cameras and thermal imagers.
yep, some of the most expensive optics out there. the majority of the cost on the unmanned aircraft we learn about is in the optics.

have you heard of the new gray eagle camera system theyre working on consisting of huge amounts of cell phone cameras into one optic lens being able to survey a 50km area in real time.

Welders here make 20+. That should be the going rate. Guess it all depends what state too.
