I know this has been done... But just out of boredom.
What line of work are you in? Is this a temp job or your permanent career choice? Love or hate it? What's the pay and what's the potential pay?
I'll start.
Occupation: Water treatment plant operator
I guess I consider it a career at this point. Pay is decent for this area. ~$13.50-$19/hr. About the same as the top paying factory work in this small town but much less work.
I work for the city government which is OK, but it takes SIXTEEN freaking years to top out your pay which is ridiculous. Other than that, getting certified by the state is a pretty good pay raise. ~$1.50/hr for 1 test and ~1.00 for the second. These test are ridiculously hard to pass now from everything I've been hearing.
In a larger city starting pay is around the same as the top out pay here...people have left here, moved 70-80 miles and started out at 55k/yr+...but I'm pretty much rooted where Im at sadly.
Anyway, post your occupation and anything you'd like to share about it. Maybe I'll get some ideas for a new, better paying gig. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
