Actually....
The Theta and using the Arcam as a Transport is what I was thinking about doing...

I also dusted off my Audio Alchemy Digital Decoding Engine v1.0. I ran a Monster Cable M1000 Silver Video coax cable from the Denon (now a transport) to the Alchemy's coax input. Then I ran a 1 meter pair of Monster Cable M1000 Mk 3 analog interconnects (retailed for around $200 back in the 90s) from the analog outputs of the Alchemy to my analog inputs of my Denon receiver.
I was skeptical at first but I didn't really care what the results were as I wasn't spending any money to try this. I always thought I was lacking a little with my setup but I just thought it was my speakers getting old. Well, after hooking it all up and putting in a CD I was astonished at how detailed and full of life my system was. It has been my Universal player all along that was lacking in detail. Don't get me wrong my universal is NOT worthless to me now because it sounds outstanding with DVD-Audio and SACD and gives a GREAT picture for DVD-Video. But I will be playing CDs on my Denon tansport and Audio Alchemy converter. I'm curious as to how HDCDs played through the universal will sound compared to the 2 piece seeing how the Alchemy isn't HDCD compatible. The universal may have a slight edge with HDCDs even though its not really a fair comparison.

Holy Shit, I just got called out. LOL. I really don't have a camera of any kind. My phone doesn't have one either. I'll get some up at a later time.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/needpics.gif.edd6d28e76618c28c46f343991bcced5.gif
the stand itself i say can handle 60-70lbs it advertises 30 thoughI've seen those center channel shelfs on a couple of websites, do you know how much weight they can handle?
My center is an Energy AC300 that weighs just over 30 lbs and I've always wondered if that type of shelf could handle it.
actually i have them in picture quality order..First of all, why haven't you alphabetized those movies. LOL.
Second of all, how does "Riddick" look on HD-DVD.???

my center channel is 30 lbs
i say its more of what the back thickness of your tv is.. if it is sturdy then it can handle the weight but if its flimsy then the tv will give out before the stand
It's actually one of the better standard DVDs when it comes to sound and it doesn't even have a DTS soundtrack. Dolby Digital only. Overall great movie. Would be nice to see a 3rd installment in that franchise.actually i have them in picture quality order..
far right top is the best and far left bottom is the worst...
and as you see riddick is close to the best and its sick so far its the best sounding hd-dvd ive seen. and real good pq
nope actually its the opposite...It's actually one of the better standard DVDs when it comes to sound and it doesn't even have a DTS soundtrack. Dolby Digital only. Overall great movie. Would be nice to see a 3rd installment in that franchise.
EDIT: Also, does it seem like the NEWER movies that weren't originally released in other formats have a better picture than the older movies.??
