Post your best pawn shop audio finds

crackheads are getting smarter they know now not to go to pawn shops and just sell to street dealers for discount on crack

i picked up a juggernut for like $100, the shop thought it was some flea market crap, then i sold it to some jackass and said it had a new recone on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

sounds like this TRF i stole from a drug dealer, traded with and mailed to a guy NC and then gave the drug dealer the address i mailed it to along with the guys name...

Picked up an ADS PQ20 at the local flea market for $20. Used it for a year to power a shitty 10, then sold it on ebay for $140:cool: That was a **** nice amp. Not great cosmetically, but very clean sound and quality stuff. That was back when I thought I needed a 4ch amp for DVC subs:laugh:

got a rf 700s for at a pawn shop cause the thought it was blown up, from touching the wires together and it smoked and protected. Took it home and hooked it up still works flawlessly to this day. best free amp i ever got!!!!!!!

Last time I looked at an amp in a pawn it appeared to have dried blood all over one side of it.

I have not been back and now confine my audio gear scrounging to higher end establishments like fleamarkets.

A couple of the Pawn Shops here have good rackets going. They have a Pawn Shop on one side, and a genuine Car Audio sales on the other. The 2 that I know of sell JL, Alpine, Memphis, Digital Designs, Diamond Audio, Sundown, and then of course the Hifonics, Lanzar and other brand new things you'd expect to find in a Pawn Shop.

They have a good deal going on, well thought out actually. Someone comes in, buys some high end equipment they can't afford, has to sell it a month later, bring it in, and they give them Pawn price on it, guy doesn't pick it up in 60 or whatever days it is, and they resell it at a reduced price, and get paid twice for the same equipment.

So it's nothing to walk into a pawnshop here and see anything on the shelf, nothing surprises me anymore.

bought...

Pioneer XM reciever with antenna, harness, controller, cables..

$10... because they had the IPbus in and Out plugs switched and at the same time had the Remote plugged in and couldnt get it to work.

10.4 inch LCD roofmount that had been stolen, obviouslly ripped from the cieling.

$20, non working, got it homr and got out the ol' soldering gun. Its been working since 2004. back then it probably woulda gone for a few hundred.

JL 10W6V2 triple box, all 3 subs in good condition..

$50 from a guy in the parking lot. he didnt have his ID and needed to pawn "these bullshit *** subs" for rent.. he had them wired to a wierd load and it was popping his amp into protect, i threw them on my Vibe 1800D and they all moved.. gave him the cash and bumped the whole way home.

Sony XAV-7W with the expansion box..

$50 because they didnt ground the **** Video bypass line and it stayed in the "video off for your safety" mode the whole time.. this was back in 2003, 2004 ish when that headunit was kickass. i remember picking up a 10 disc changer for another 50 and having a badass system with my Playstation 1, under the passenger seat ..
