If this was the case then why do contries that have socialized medicine have better health care than the United States?
I am willing to bet, and even Devil Driver agrees, that the US is less healthier as a nation than those other countries.
If you have a country with 1/3 of its citizens obese along with hundreds of other ailments due to a lack of health awareness/consciosness, then of course medical expenses are going to be higher.
I wonder how Canada's or Finland, etc would fair if nearly half it's people were sick already. I don't see how socialized medicine is going to addess the underlying causes of sickness (mainly poor eating habits and sedintary lifestyle). I have never been to Canada, but I wonder what is the ratio of fast food resturants to grocery stores? Hell, I read an article where Detroit has very very few grocery stores. Well, the people have to eat and they are going to eat fast food. Do you think that will help or hurt their medical condition.
Healthcare, imo, is not the end of the chain, but something that adds value throughout one's life.
