post your thoughts when you get it installed. I just installed an 845 with a sirius tuner. I got them both for $202.00 used. The sirius tuner has service so I assume the guy had a contradt that he didn't bother canceling. It seems like a well built unit but it does clip the signal at the upper end of the volume scale. That is something I was not accustomed to with my old Eclipse.

for some reason i have never had the desire to use an alpine deck. i already placed the order for the clarion so i'll see how that works for me.

why is that? just dont like something about them?

pioneer's generally clip at about 30 out of 50 volume. at first i'm only gonna hook to stock speakers because i have nothing else installed. my eclipse i used to run at 75 out of 80 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my pioneer only went to 40 i thought? or does it go to 50. i swear the little meter looks like 40 when i put it on half way at 20

it might. i never went passed 30. i've just read that's where they start to clip so i never went passed 30.

Clarion 745mp was one of my first decks, it was a great deck. Played all my burned and eff-ed up cds with no problem, SQ and built quality is on par with eclipse. I actually perfer that clarion model to a eclipse cd5444. you got a great deck and a good price, the deck is def. worth alot more.
