i currentl have a pioneer premier 860. i used to have an eclipse 8443. well i just didn't like the controls on the 8443, so i got the 860 and i love the controls on the 860 but the quality isn't up to par with the 8443. it doesn't play stracthed cd's well. some stock decks play sctratched cd's better then the pioneer. the 8443 played every cd i owned perfectly, but i didn't like the controls, especially the sub control. after using both, i really don't need all these features. some simple high pass/low pass crossovers will do, and a small graphic eq. also need atleast 3 rca's. not looking to spend alot. not sure what deck to look into.

what do you guys think about this deck? http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/3923 i figure it's so cheap since it's refurbished and last years model but how does that compare to pioneer? i know it probably doesn't have the quality as an eclipse but what do you guys think about it? also the way i take it, it has 6 channel rca's? that would be nice since i'm running a 6-channel amp and a subwoofer amp.

I would put Clarion before Pioneer when it comes to quality (craftsmanship and sound). That's me though.

from what i've dug up on a search, alot of people like clarion and put them ahead of pioneer. i guess for the price it can't be beat. it has everything i want plus 6 channel rca's but what sucks is no high pass filter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif i was thinking of adding a external 3-way xover though.

When I bought an 90 Accord back in 98 it came with a Clarion Pro Audio deck and I absolutely hated it! I immediately pulled my Pioneer deck out of my other car and slapped it into the Accord. I've always bought Pioneer decks and never had any problems with them at all.

Now I don't know how the new Clarion decks are.

What about Alpine? I always hear good things about them and I really liked the one my buddy had.

what happened? i thought u would keep your 860 for a while since you thought it was really good, i still want something different

but dont know yet a dxz955 looks awsome and the jvc av looks cool but eclipse looks to complicated

i like the deck, but it doesn't seem to have the sq that my eclipse had. i like the controls and everything, but almost all my cd's skip on this deck. i thought my cd's were really ****ed but when my car was in the shop, i drove a 2000 impala and the stock deck played my cd's with no problem. i already made my decision. i went and got that dxz745. i never used the features on my 860 anyways.

yup. just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's bad. it's cheap because it's a 2004 model and refurbished. new it went near $300.

i also bought an external crossover. i never used time alignment and i always set my eq to flat, so i really don't need something with a lot of bells and whistles so i think this deck along with my crossover will do me very nicely.

i would get an alpine 9847. i can guarantee the build quality will meet that of your eclipse. i have owned that 8443, it is a good deck. dont go new eclipse, the build quality seemed to fall off a little. if you still arent happy with the SQ of it, i would run an EQ.

for some reason i have never had the desire to use an alpine deck. i already placed the order for the clarion so i'll see how that works for me.
