possibly hooked my amp up backwards, started smoking.... what happened to it?

it's not necessarily blown. just a couple things to fix. rf amps have a switch that blows and puts it in protect mode when something like it happens
No amps have a "switch" that blows. A switch is a physical openning/closing of a circuit done manually. A fuse or breaker could blow. If it were a fuse, it would not be smoking. Electronics that smoke don't work anymore. It's a simple fact. They load smoke in components from the factory. Components are designed to release it when they are bad. That's how you know.... and knowing is half the battle. GI JOE!!!

I really hope you're joking.

So I was hooking my amp up yesterday with a friend, and he was putting the ground and power in. He touched it once to the post, it sparked, and he put it on the post and began clamping it down. All of a sudden, it started smoking like crazy. We unhooked it, but i'm unsure what to do next. Are just the fuses blown? is it gone? any help would be greatly appreciated. My amp is a Rockford Fosgate R-1000-1D
I'm sorry but I have to lulz here, it "started smoking like crazy" and you want to know what happened to it?

Your friend caught the **** thing on fire, something burned up in there. Make him buy you a new amp!

yeah, electricity isn't rocket science. i know how it operates.
Can you open up the amp and take some pics and post them here? I just want to see the carnage, or the magical "switch" that blows on RF amps.

^^^This

I could see this happening if he hooked the power wire to the remote on terminal...

and besides, i was asking a simple question. if I wanted an answer that got me absolutely nowhere, I wouldn't have bothered asking.
